Missions: Etiquette
Other than the benefit of being able to sit and chat with your friends in other clubs (that silly PM restriction and all, ya know), the main reason a person attends the Engagement Parties is to do the Missions and earn prizes. Everyone loves the $$$ and emeralds (not so much the experience because some of us don’t want to be leveling that quickly). In order to help the missions go smoothly, it is necessary for you, the guest, to prepare a few things in advance. Why? Because there are 25 missions and you never know what order those missions are going to arrive in.
The night before a party, I don’t do all my daily tasks. The only one in there that won’t be a mission in the party is the Fashion Machine, so you can go ahead and get that one done. After all, it’s more than likely the hardest task we have daily and it can determine whether or not you get them all done. Most times parties will start just early enough where the the task list can still be completed before the server change of day.

Things you need to prepare in advance:
Super Model: as we all know, sometimes those pesky SMs can be so very elusive. I wish there was a trick to get them to show up on command, but there isn’t. So we need to be proactive and make sure we have one ready to challenge before we go into the party. For those of us living farther to the west in the Americas, this means doing the search before we go to bed (unless you’re a morning lark and actually enjoy getting up early).
Photo Session: there are 2 missions at a party that deal with Photo Sessions. One is simply a collection of the emeralds while the other one needs you to do a full participation (from the first click to the collect). Since the missions come randomly, it’s best to have one of these ready to go. Optimal is to have one as close to 100% as possible.
Lucky Cards: have at least 1 pack available to play when this mission comes up. Best bet is to leave the $100 pack for this, so you don’t have to use too many $$$ to get the mission done. Usually, all you need is one card for it to count towards the mission, but sometimes people forget and play all their packs before the party, so you might need all 3 cards. I generally leave both the $100 pack as well as the $300, just to be certain.
Mini Games: do not play any of these until party time. It’s not as though they’re a daily task anyhow. If you must play them, leave the 2 quickest games available for the party (and yes, the scratch off counts, but not the fortune cookie).
Emeralds and Dollars: it’s good to get a small stash of the emeralds set beforehand. At least 10 or 12 to get you started because it’s highly possible one of the missions that cost emeralds (buy a gift for the boyfriend, or buy popularity bonuses) will show up first and you certainly don’t want to waste that Photo Session you prepared on something like this. I usually start hoarding a couple days in advance in order to account for any daily club donations I’ll need to make too. As for the dollars, I just let the income from my apartment take care of that. If I need a few more (I like to have at least $3,000 going into a party), I use a couple of my energy to battle girls in the Fashion Arena.
Energy: make sure you have at least 6 units of energy handy before arriving. Usually, I’m just waking up before the party so I have a full bar. I’ll use 3 or 4 to make sure I have some money on hand and then I just leave the rest. If I get a full bar during the party (and assuming we aren’t on the battle mission), I’ll hit a girl or two in the Fashion Arena to keep my funding up, that way I don’t have to keep cashing out my prizes little at a time to make sure I have enough for the mission.
Settings: if you are over level 19, you more than likely played with your settings a time or two. I know I have. It’s a good way to drop a load of money if you're in a crunch for time (like you’re late for bed or an appointment). It’s not cost effective so many of us just don’t do it. Anyhow, you know when you’re voting and there’s that little gear to the left of a person’s podium number? Well if you click that you can adjust how much money you want to use for the voting. When set at 1, it costs you $50 per vote (so if you vote across all 3 categories, it costs you $150 per person you visit). The most $$$ you use, the more points you get. However, in a party, each of those points show up as if you did the mission that many times. This can really irritate the other guests in the party because you’re taking away a chance at the mission from several other people. You only need to do a mission ONCE, unless told otherwise (there’s some etiquette on that which we’ll discuss later). In the Salon, it’s the same thing only that setting one is 1 point for every $100 ($10,000 gets you 70 points but then it looks like you did the mission 70 times!). I assure you, everyone can tell when your settings are wrong and it will make everyone quite cross with you.
Your outfit: Omigoodness, we can’t forget this! Every bride to be has a plan on how she wants her party to look. Each one has her own idea of the perfect colors & styles to make the most exquisite photos (or at least in her opinion). For some of us, the perfect outfit takes a day or so to craft as we want to look just so within the parameters the hostess’s theme. It’s always a good idea to change out your girl to her party outfit the night before a party. This makes it so there’s one less thing to worry about on party day.

The day of the party:
It’s good to get online about an hour prior to the party so you can go through your checklist.
Party outfit on?
Supermodel and Photosession ready?
All settings to ONE in the Salon and voting areas?
A comfortable amount of $$$ and emeralds on hand just in case?
Good. Now all you have to do is wait for the party to open and go, Go, GO!!!

When you get into the party:
First things first, check the mission. The missions are random and you don’t know which one will come up first. Often times, when a Salon or Voting mission comes up first… it’ll catch the guests unprepared (there’s still a debate going on regarding whether the people don’t read the rules or if they just don’t care). Get the mission done ONCE.
Next, look to the right and give that party a click. You can “LIKE” the party every single hour. You don’t get anything special for this, but the satisfaction that you helped the hostess get towards getting the Top Party of the Month.
Then, grab your goodies. There’s a welcome gift for you up top and to the right. It’s advisable to just put it in your inventory for now because sometimes there’s $$$ in there. Not a lot, but it’s just better to wait. To the left is another gift item. It’s generally a bonus item of some kind (either a popularity one OR something to help Supermodel and Photoshoot searches). These gift items show up every 15 minutes. If you want to really benefit from the party, make sure you have a timer nearby to remind you to get your gifts. Other than sitting and chatting with friends from other groups in an area where character and PM limits aren’t in effect, the door prizes are the best thing about spending 8 hours in a chatroom loaded with people you barely know.
If you’re going to buy a present for the hostess, you need to be sure you have plenty of emeralds stored up because some of the items can be quite pricey. However, there’s a benefit in that you get the item too. So… you see that "to die for" necklace and would love to have it in your wardrobe? Well then buy it! Within 30 minutes that same item will be in your wardrobe and you’ll benefit from the Style fashion points too! This is a great time to grab items for the skills that you’re needing help on (like some of the higher leveled girls need to spend emeralds to add to their skill points OR a huge wad of $$$ to practice).
Oh! And be sure to say “Hi!” and “Thanks for the invite!” in the chat room. Honestly, I should put this one in the first spot, but some of the other items go by so quickly and you don’t want to miss out. Besides the room’s chat thread is like watching the opening credits to Star Wars on fast forward and it’s going to get missed anyhow. Wait a bit, and make a grand entrance.

Other stuff:
Chat in the party room is generally English in this version of the game. Please, if you’ve found a new friend that speaks the same language that you do, take the chat into your clubhouse or into another method of communications. Some people can be so very rude about it when languages other than English are spoken, and I’ve seen people get booted from parties for not following this guideline.
A good rule of thumb for the missions is to do it ONCE and then WAIT. I generally will do a mission, wait 5-10 minutes , and then do it again. Then I repeat the process as necessary. This way everyone gets a chance at the rewards. This is especially true for the Lose in the Arena one because some of the upper level guests have a really difficult time finding someone to lose their battle to. In order to be fair (and yet still get all the missions done in a timely manner), you need to have some patience. The ones dealing with the Photosessions (both collect and participate), as well as the Supermodel one, can usually be done more than once. You DO NOT get any bigger prize for doing the missions multiple times. Whether you do it once or end up doing it 10 times to save the mission, you still end up with the same reward.
Many players will suggest that you don’t grab your rewards until the end of the party. Now me? Well I prefer to grab a few of them as I go along. If it’s a reward of just experience points and emeralds, I cash it out right away. It’s not as though another player’s going to steal any of that. If it has cash in the reward, I leave it unless I need it. Even then, I cash out only the smallest possible one needed. Say we’re doing the mission where you buy magazines. Those buggers are $1,500 per purchase. If I have only, say $800 on me, I’ll cash out one of the $1000 prizes to make that purchase. That way I still don’t have alot of $$$ on me and I don’t need to waste my energy attempting to find another model to battle in the arena (because my luck is that I’ll be battling for money to make a purchase and the mission will change to the Win in the Arena one).
One last hint. When it gets to the end of the party and you’re going to be cashing out all your rewards, ask a clubmate to battle you first. I hear it now “But they’re my clubmate, we’re not supposed to battle them!”. There are times when it is appropriate to battle your own sisters. This is one of those times. If you can get them to battle you, this helps out 2 fold. First, it puts you in a situation where no one else can battle you for an hour. This keeps the Party Vultures away, and not one is using you as their cash cow. Secondly, if they win against you… the money is staying in group as opposed to paying another group's “bills”.
